Sandersonia-Aurantiaca

This species is original of South Africa, but nowadays in rare ocations it is in its natural habitat. Sandersonia Aurantiaca was introduced more than 75 years ago to Nueva Zelanda, nevertheless single during the last decade, has been begun to cultivate with commercial aims. In Japan, Sandersonia Aurantiaca is considered an important floral species. It is a florícola, native species of South Africa, recent introduction to Chile, with possibilities of being cultivated in the country for production as much of flowers as of his vegetative structure, the túberos. As flower of cut, Sandersonia Aurantiaca, calls the attention of the consumer, to present/display a inflorescencia with individual flowers of acampanulada form and an intense orange color, that a paper flower simulates. At the moment the greater producer of this species is Nueva.zelanda, whose export it is made in form of túberos or flower of cut, destined mainly to the Japanese market and in smaller degree to Europe.
